Reflections 1 & Craig-Bryan House
A mixed-media piece that's in my current exhibition at the Bentonville Convention and Visitors' Bureau: Reflections1 (Crystal Bridges Preview Week, November 2011). I took the photo outside one of the galleries, amazed at the reflections and refractions in the enormous glass windows. There were just three people standing at the end of the gallery, but the reflections made it look like a room full of people.
I started with an acrylic layer, then added marker (lots of marker!) and more acrylic accents. This is fun stuff. Love doing it.
The Craig-Bryan House is also mixed-media, though in a bit different style. Lots more paint. Threw in a little Klimt-ish fracturing. This is one of my favorite houses on Central in Bentonville. Have always admired it, and enjoyed painting it. Probably will paint it again, perhaps in a different style, maybe larger.
Come see the exhibit and take Reflections 1 or Craig-Bryan home! Reception Friday, November 2, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. First Friday on the square will also be going on, so you're in for a great evening.
